Jade Starr I’ve loved this band for so long time. They are one of Australia’s most dynamic & talented acts going that should be on the Radar of EVERYBODY.
This track tickles all my music genre tastes. It’s sophisticated, precise and as Worldy as it gets! If you ain’t into Shanghai seek medical attention Now! Favorite track: Murakush.
Poesy Rider

Poor Camelot still-birthed on Athen’s teat Broken vision of what life should be Hope’s fire still it burns beneath our feet As we traverse the ruins of our Disenchanted, unenlightened pasts In the blink of an eye Embers fall on the mire Gabriel’s horn blows its note!

Soft spoken, soul waits It pulses light

Triggerhappy 03:25
I can’t kill you Find the reason why Cool running, a dead-end style Most motherfuckers don’t know who I am Where is the night to hide away? He’s called Triggerhappy The king in his castle He twists, he lies Time to topple down Sin, sin city, I merry-go-round Gonna climb up in this big, old town Ride up and fight the down decay Wait not as time pursues you He’s called Triggerhappy He’s called Triggerhappy Never make friends with the candyman Your life is in my hands Your life is in my hands With your feet against the wall Down and out It won’t be the end I will wash you away As the sun sets behind you
5.
My God, it’s full of stars! Hiding beneath the vast oceans of Venus He avoids the Martian advance And makes himself a humble home With golden arches & an empire of his own False Maria freeing Hell with her dance One third now follow the orders Of a foul prince’s demands Unlubed now he is raping the earth He needs oil for the girth Of his phallus and its darkened romance We are the apple of his eye Often sell but never buy What’s at the bottom of your lie You are the catcher in the rye That’s right, in the middle We don’t (No, no, don’t owe you) Owe you anything (No, no, we don’t owe) You’ve signed (Signed) Your life away Admired by the oceans of people In a voodoo trance The brand achieves consciousness Then begins to stand Was this part of your plan?
6.
Tiān Lù 02:06
Keep your sense, don’t walk away Those signs you see of sadder days And it seems you’ve lost your way These times will turn to better things Fortune seeps through sugar walls
7.
Sundowner 03:27
Smoke and mirrors cloud sophrosyne Your portrait fails in nearly every scene Spears of lightening pierce a starless sky Inside this violent dream Why now come to meet me With your righteousness and anger And your disregard for danger He is so full of surprises As sun sets and chases the day Well he is so very surprising And will not stay Cool waters form a glassy cage You’re still running but who’s to blame? Sunlight reveals a tainted man But time will win the game I am rolling somewhere in time As the sun fades away He is so full of surprises As sun sets and chases the day Oh he is so very surprising And will not stay
8.
Shenanigans 03:56
A plan was hatched, so strike your match Drive my claws into your brain So pour more drinks, enjoy the kicks Dance around, make you insane Can't ya feel the thrill? Slipping off the tracks Don't stop now honey, we ain't done We'll pluck tomorrow, from tonight now C'mon sugarbaby, there's nowhere to hide Step right up, adulate me Oooh oooh, oh yeah, uh huh I've got no time on my side but I can make you feel fine Wish for a headcleaner To debase these troubled thoughts Blast my mind but still I crave for more Always wanting more I'll take what I can get There's no end in sight! Don’t act like y’all above me Superfly Secrets of my mind to downtown infinity Double up Jack And prove what you mean to me Who wants it? Just roll the cure over Settle down honey there’s lots goin’ ‘round C’mon make me feel it Whiz-a-shoo-pepi-dada Oh no, time to take it on the nose Little Miss Innocent, there's my number Don't talk just feel about it, darlin’ hear my call Little Miss Innocent, there's my number Don't talk just feel about it, darlin’ heed my call Won’t you heed my call, heed my call Oh won’t you heed my call Are you there?

Who meets the king With camels in the distance Augustus in the shrine of Shangrila? Deep inside a caliphate of his rule In bred with greed And lustful cauldron arts He lied, he lied, like Antichristos In time, in time, your trust will follow Le grande menage a trois Perhaps the postulate of Babylonian influence On Greek astronomy is incorrect? This nonsense is enough to reunite us Bring the end of megalomania This task, unfolds These times are hopeful Conjure, conquer The rest will follow Behold...the biting of the hand! Le grande menage a trois I’m young, I’m tired Of fulfilling desires It’s a tangled web we weave, darling oh But now we’re not alone

We live in the land of the lost Where blind men live With fear due to doubts That their worth is a construct Held by the thinnest veneer That could crack then disappear Would chaos prevail if it did? Or might we not build us Some commoner ground? Oh Cauda Pavonis! The phoenix is waiting for birth From the ashes of the usurped If we look within, well what do we see? Economic machinery? Doesn’t the TV lie? Aren’t the hugs and cheers A counterfeit of all our lives? Soul’s view of skies made blue And bright sunlight illuminates The path of gold through hope’s new ford Bridge over deep troubled waters Through a golden dawn of light Throw away all your problems No grey clouds of concern Will take the brand new day Now... Who do you reach for sweet divine? Or hasn’t your mother taught you how? Blinded by greed and astral signs Now come along with me For a different ride Who do you reach for sweet divine? Or hasn’t your mother taught you how? Look up to the sky and astral fires Now come along with me For a different ride Take the golden road, a new sacred home (Look up to the sky) Destination for a different ride Golden open road, a new sacred home (Look up to the sky) Destination for a different ride Behold the transformation A heart of lead to gold Metal purification Bright mercury reborn Colourful evolution Forgotten human soul So burn the imperfections Cauda Pavonis rise! Fly, everything is one! Ride, everything as one!
14.
Hear me again Run to my words Come play The feeling stays the same Don’t close the door so soon We’ve only just begun I will always follow you And travel far and wide Just to see the smile on your face Let’s fly away Off into space Until we’re realised again And when I finally die on you Don’t think I’ve gone And left you all alone ‘Cos when you do These feelings shall pass.

about

Introducing the new full length concept album by avant garde progressive art rock ensemble Shanghai!

Recorded over a period of 5 long years, the band has painstakingly assembled and crafted their most intricate and multi layered work to date. The full band lineup is complemented by the addition of a string section in an ambitious attempt to interpret Shanghai's already dense compositions at an orchestral level.
